Bessie is a super sweet petite beagle weighing in around 14 pounds! She’s about 3 1/2 years old and was rescued from a sale on Facebook. She didn’t have what it takes to be a hunting dog so her previous owner tried to sell her.  Bessie loves to find a corner to snuggle in, is great in a crate and housebroken. She’s a quiet girl (but occassionally speaks Beagle) and is great with other dogs. She does well with kids but may chew on their toys if not supervised properly. (She hasn't done this in her foster home.) She has the cutest little wiggle butt you've ever seen - especially at meal time!

Sweet Bessie was previously adopted out by HWMAR but was returned after they discovered she was heartworm positive.  We are now treating her for heartworm, but she is able to go to the right forever home during the course of treatment.  (The rescue covers all costs of the treatment. Approved applicant will discuss the treatment plan with our medical team before setting up a meet & greet so everyone is comfortable.) 

Bessie is a gem of a dog who has some bumps in the road and we just haven't found the right home for her yet.  We are determined to find an amazing home for her, because she deserves it!
